A naming ceremony (Nwaran – न्वारन) is one of the most meaningful early moments in a child’s life. It is more than the giving of a name — it is a quiet introduction of a new life into family, tradition, and community. Surrounded by loved ones, blessings are shared, prayers are offered, and a sense of belonging begins to take shape. What makes this moment special is not just the ritual itself, but the emotion around it — the pride, the joy, and the deep cultural connection that brings everyone together. Through my lens, I aim to preserve these moments with care, so they can be remembered not just as an event, but as the beginning of a story.
