Kalachakra Journey
A Personal Note
I've had the chance to work on many creative projects over the years, but this one feels truly special.
I'm deeply grateful to be part of something so meaningful — documenting the Kalachakra Ceiling Project inside the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion. It's not just a filming job — it's a rare opportunity to capture a living history of art, faith, and community.
This page is dedicated to sharing that journey with you — from the first day a panel was lifted, to each meaningful step forward.
About the Kalachakra Ceiling Project
- Over 2.5 years of continuous painting
- Contributions from 60+ artists and many dedicated volunteers
- 100 hand-painted panels
- Installed inside a 20×20 metre sacred space within the dome
Rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, this mandala represents universal harmony and peace — a spiritual map of time, space, and awakening.
Follow the Journey
I'll continue updating this page with new video clips, reflections, and meaningful milestones from the Kalachakra Ceiling Project as it unfolds. Thank you for being here — and thank you to the Great Stupa for entrusting me with the chance to capture this living history.
Project Timeline & Progress
This timeline is updated as the project unfolds. Each moment shared here is part of a greater journey — a living record of the ceiling coming to life.
Day 1: The first painted Kalachakra ceiling panel is lifted into place. A powerful moment marking the beginning of installation after more than two years of dedicated artistic work.
Just 12 days into installation, the first section of sacred panels now hangs suspended inside the dome — perfectly aligned and radiating presence. This marks a monumental step in realising the 20×20 metre Kalachakra Mandala: a world-first in scale and sacred significance. A moment of progress, devotion, and living history.
The Kalachakra Mandala ceiling is now close to halfway complete. The intricate panels continue to be lifted into place inside the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, with over 60 artists and many volunteers contributing to this two-and-a-half-year journey of devotion and artistry. The vision is steadily unfolding, piece by piece.
More updates will be posted here as the project progresses — piece by piece.
