Kalachakra Ceiling Project

A sacred project revealed slowly — through art, faith, devotion, colour, movement, and the quiet work of many hands.

This page is dedicated to sharing the journey of the Kalachakra Ceiling Project inside the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion — from the first day a panel was lifted, to each meaningful step forward.

Personal note

Not just a filming job. A living history.

I've had the chance to work on many creative projects over the years, but this one feels truly special.

I'm deeply grateful to be part of something so meaningful — documenting the Kalachakra Ceiling Project inside the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion.

It's not just a filming job — it's a rare opportunity to capture a living history of art, faith, and community.

The Kalachakra Mandala is a sacred symbol in Tibetan Buddhism representing time, cosmos, and inner awakening. It's traditionally created in sand, but this ceiling version is painted to last for generations.
The ceiling is being installed inside the dome of the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, in Bendigo, Australia.
The project has involved over 60 artists from Australia and abroad, along with many volunteers who've helped across painting, planning, and installation over more than two years.
The ceiling is not only a rare visual expression of Buddhist philosophy — it's also a gesture of world peace, community effort, and intergenerational legacy.
